Hello everyone! The Spanish Honor Society is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our First Annual Movie Night event for students in grades seven through nine. This is our first time hosting an after-school movie. If you attend this event, you can earn a point that towards your total for the Spanish Honor Society. After a careful selection, we have selected "La Bamba". Refreshments, pizza, snacks and beverages, will be served. There is a fee for the movie! Movie Information:
"La Bamba" is a 1987 Spanish movie about Richie Valens and his rise to fame. It is rated PG-13. Summary: Los Angeles teenager Ritchie Valens becomes an overnight rock 'n' roll success in 1958 after releasing a love ballad that is called "Donna" which he wrote for his girlfriend whose parents didn't want her to date a Latino boy. But as he becomes increasingly famous, Valens has arguments with his jealous brother, Bob, and becomes haunted by a repeating nightmare of a plane crash right as he starts his first national tour with Buddy Holly.
